Faculty member, Wendy Chiles, is a gifted dance teacher and has had a long association with The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. She teaches in the Professional Training Program and the adult recreational dance classes, and she is one of the most established Graham teachers in Canada.
This summer, and each year for the past three years, Wendy has had the honour to be a juror at the Korean International Modern Dance Competition (KIMDC). KIMDC is a modern dance competition which attracts modern dancers from all over the world to compete at junior and senior levels.
We caught up with Wendy following her time in Seoul, reflecting on the dancers she met and the level of competition:
“The senior dancers are at a professional level, and dancing in choreography that is challenging and meaningful. The juniors bring very good training, skill, and passion for dance.”
