To our School community,

We hope this message finds you healthy and happy during these challenging times.

In response to today’s COVID-19 update by Government and Public Health officials, the School is affected by new public health measures, and is required to adhere to new restrictions. Effective immediately, the School will be on a work/study-from-home protocol for 28 days:

  • The first day of school for second and third year students will remain on October 15 — registration, orientation, and training sessions will take place online as originally scheduled.
  • All classes will start online October 19.
  • We will phase everyone back to school for in-studio training starting November 9, if we are permitted to do so after the 28-day protocol.

More details on additional public health measures implemented by the province of Ontario:

For incoming first year students, we are still proposing to commence classes online on January 4, 2021, and in person on January 18, 2021. Though our intention is to provide in-person training from January to the end of the school year for all our students, we recognize this may not be possible, and we would continue with our hybrid model of programming.

Our first priority continues to be the health and safety of our community — including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The building at 80 Winchester remains closed, Toronto Dance Theatre is on a work-from-home protocol, and School staff and faculty continue to work remotely. Please reach out to us by email and let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

If you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, avoid contact with others and follow-up with your health care professional. As always, if someone is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, you are encouraged to stay home or seek medical attention. Information on preventative measures may be found on the Government of Canada website, and for current updates from Toronto Public Health, please visit

Please continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and adhere to these new guidelines as provided by Public Health officials. Your cooperation will help ensure we can return in studio on November 9. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to provide the best possible program we can offer.

See you online next week, and have a happy and safe weekend.
