Sahara Morimoto is an independent dance artist, performer, and teacher, based in Toronto. She has danced with adelheid, AKA Dance, Angela Blumberg, Antony Hamilton, Dreamwalker Dance Company, Human Body Expression, inDANCE, Karen Kaeja, Kẹmi Contemporary Dance Projects, Soft Matter, Toronto Dance Theatre, and with Peggy Baker Dance Projects, where she also was Artistic Associate from 2008-2015. She is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School, and later trained at Codarts/Rotterdam Dance Academy.
As a solo artist, she has commissioned Nothing III by Noa Zuk and Ohad Fishof, and heart – work by Marcela Giesche. Morimoto was a participant in the Ilan Lev Method’s first Training Program in Poland, with support from the Ontario Arts Council and the Dancer Transition Resource Centre. She completed the program in April 2019, and practices the method as a certified practitioner.
