Let’s listen, learn, and support 🖤
Black lives matter not just today, but every single day.
We commit to learning, educating ourselves, and improving our efforts to be allies for marginalized communities facing injustice. We stand up against inequality and injustice. We recognize our responsibility to eliminate systemic barriers and to promote a fair and inclusive community in which to work, study, and live.
On June 2, 2020, we participated in #theshowmustbepaused, in solidarity with and out of respect for Black lives. This initiative was created to recognize the long-standing racism and inequality in the arts industry.
The School has made a donation to Black Lives Matter – Toronto, and if you have the capacity, we encourage you to do the same. We recognize we can do better, and we acknowledge we have more to learn. We are also currently part of the new cohort of organizations participating in Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement Ontario (CPAMO)’s Equity Education in the Arts project.
Continue to check out our Facebook and Instagram feeds and stories for more information and resources, and go to https://linktr.ee/schooloftdt for more community groups, non-profits, and GoFundMe’s to support the Black community in Toronto.
We commit to continuing the dialogue, and taking action. Change must happen, and we commit to being a part of this change because BLACK. LIVES. MATTER. The time for change is now!
