THE SCHOOL OF TORONTO DANCE THEATRE presents IMPULSE 2018, a fall main-stage performance of ensemble works, showcasing the students from all three years of the program in an evening of new works. This is the debut performance for our first year students!

• First year students will perform a new work by the School’s Resident Choreographer Darryl Tracy, The piece includes highly physical and theatrical movement and accompanying text created by the dancers. The work was inspired by Gyula Pauer’s sculpture The Shoes on the Danube Bank and supported by student research at the Bata Shoe Museum.

• Second year students will present a new piece created by the accomplished graduate of the School, Jennifer Dallas, whose past work has garnered her significant accolades and awards. They also dance in a new commission by David Norsworthy, in which dancers deal with chance while practising awareness, problem solving, and togetherness.

• Third year students will perform in a new, vibrant and charged piece by Allen Kaeja, drawing from their personal experiences of being alone when surrounded by others danced to an original musical composition by Edgardo Moreno, Additionally, they will premiere a vigorous and exciting new work by Ofilio Sinbadinho, Co-Artistic Director of the acclaimed Toronto urban dance company Gadfly.
