The School is seeking an Engagement & Office Assistant to support the Professional Training Program and Recreational programs for emerging dance artists and the community at large.

The role of the Engagement & Office Assistant is to facilitate and expand the engagement of the school with our many stakeholders including: Professional Training Program students and alumni, Recreational Program participants of all ages and their parents, donors, sponsors, supporters, granting bodies, the dance community and community at-large.
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program and eligible applicants must meet the following requirements.

  • is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  • intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  • is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
  • is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  • is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations

Tasks and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Digital Engagement:

  • Monitor the School’s social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Research and organize digital cross-promotional opportunities within the industry
  • Help curate and develop creative and engaging digital and social media content to promote and instigate buzz/conversation about the School’s various activities, and philanthropic support for the School
  • Monitor various social media channels for trending topics and conversations in the fields of dance, dance training, and the performing arts and identify opportunities for engagement
  • Scour the digital world to identify important social media connections for the School
  • Assist with creating, maintaining, and tracking Google Adwords campaigns
  • Assist with creating and tracking Facebook Ad campaigns
  • Compile website and social media analytics reports

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Assist with the execution of fundraising campaigns
  • Assist with the analysis of fundraising campaigns
  • Assist to ensure tax receipt mailings and thank you letters
  • Assist with stewardship and cultivation activities for all stakeholders
  • Assist with alumni engagement
  • Assist with upcoming 50th Anniversary Reunion

Office Support:

  • Assist with the day-to-day administrative and management tasks where needed

Salary: $14 per hour
Term: 8-week contract, part-time, 30 hours per week
Start Date: June 4, 2018
