Jake Ramos began his training with Norzagaray Dance Troupe in Bulacan, Philippines. He was first introduced to Philippine cultural dances, which became a strong foundation of his dance training. He graduated from The School of Toronto Dance Theatre in 2016 as co-winner of the 2016 Walker Wood Bursary and the Sharon B. Moore Solo Project Award. During his time at the School, he had the pleasure of performing works by many renowned choreographers including Kate Alton, Peter Chin, Robert Desrosiers, Danny Grossman, Christopher House, Sasha Ivanochko, James Kudelka, Louis Laberge-Côté, Julia Sasso, Ofilio Sinbadinho, and Darryl Tracy. He also participated in the Canada Dance Festival’s 50 Dancer Project, performing in timeframe (2016) by Robert Desrosiers. Since graduating, he has had the privilege of working with different choreographers and companies including Jennifer Archibald, Robert Desrosiers, Hanna Kiel for Human Body Expression, Deborah Lundmark for Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, Peter Randazzo, and William Yong for Zata Omm Dance Projects.
