The School of Toronto Dance Theatre presents IMPULSE 2014, an ambitious main-stage performance of ensemble works, showcasing dancers from all three years of the Professional Training Program.

  • First year students will present a challenging new work by Darryl Tracy. Building from improvisation, the piece features Tracy’s highly dynamic movement vocabulary and distinctive gestural work.
  • Second year students will premiere a new work by acknowledged master of elegant and colourful movement, Robert Desrosiers. They will also perform a powerful and emotional new work by distinguished alumna of the School, Kate Alton.
  • Third year students will perform a revival of Danny Grossman’s Ground Zero (1990); a challenging and powerful work from this master of socially conscious dramatic dance. Additionally, they will appear in a new work by Allen Kaeja incorporating the principles of the demanding discipline of contact improvisation.
