Ed Squires is a percussionist and improviser from Goulds, Newfoundland. He holds a Performance Diploma from the Glenn Gould School and B.Mus from Memorial University. He has studied with Rob Power, Don Wherry, John Wyre, David Kent and John Rudolph. Squires is committed to the creation of contemporary music. He has commissioned six new percussion works which have been broadcast on the CBC and internationally.

Based in Toronto, Squires is in demand as an orchestral player and dance accompanist. He is a member of Ontario Philharmonic, the contemporary percussion duo River Connected with Dan Morphy, and performs regularly with Juno-nominated folk singer Donovan Woods. Squires is the former principal timpanist of the Brampton Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed with the Kingston Symphony, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Tapestry New Opera Works, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
